Jade Cargill Written Off WWE TV Due To Legitimate Injury
Cargill will be out of action for a while
Nov 25, 2024
The angle that aired on last Friday's episode of SmackDown was designed to write Jade Cargill off WWE television, as she is currently dealing with a legitimate injury.
WWE's storyline update noted that there was no timetable for Cargill's return, while The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer has since provided further information.
Meltzer received confirmation that Cargill was legitimately injured and that the SmackDown angle was designed to cover for it. He added that the severity wasn't known internally past those involved with creative, though he was told that she would be out of action for a minimum of three months, perhaps longer.
WWE claimed that Jade had suffered "a bruised kidney, a sprained MCL in her right knee, a tibial plateau bone bruise of her right knee, and facial lacerations" in the kayfabe attack.
Currently one half of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions (alongside Bianca Belair), Cargill last competed on the November 11 edition of Raw, where she and Belair successfully defended their titles against The Judgment Day's Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
Just a couple of months ago, the former AEW star spoke about her new WWE schedule, describing it as "very, very brutal".
