A little over a week since signing with New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Jake Lee is already facing a spell on the sidelines after picking up a foot injury.

Lee was set to compete at NJPW’s upcoming Noboribetsu’s Road to Destruction card on September 14 but has been pulled from the event, with the planned eight-man tag between the team of YOSHI-HASHI, Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii, & Tomoaki Honma against the Bullet Club War Dogs team of David Finlay, Gabe Kidd, Jake Lee, & Gedo changed to be a six-man tag with Honma dropping out to even the teams.

NJPW confirmed Lee’s injury in an official press release, and have stated he will undergo further evaluation. There is so far no return date set for Lee.

Lee put pen to paper on his NJPW contract in early September, having debuted for the company as part of the War Dogs earlier in 2024. A former mainstay of All Japan Pro-Wrestling and Pro Wrestling NOAH, Lee is a three-time world champion, having had two reigns with AJPW’s Triple Crown, and one with NOAH’s GHC Heavyweight Championship.
