Jake Roberts Criticises Modern Wrestlers For Not Selling Moves

Jake Roberts has some advice for modern wrestlers

Wrestling is an ever evolving art form, with wrestlers changing up and expanding how in-ring action can be performed, telling stories in new and exciting ways. However, there are elements of modern wrestling which don’t sit well with veterans in and out of the industry, with the sometimes lack of selling a usual candidate for criticism.

Of all the names to take umbrage with the modern phenomenon of under-selling, Jake Roberts has added his name to the list of dissenting voices, saying the following on The Snake Pit podcast:

"What kills me is is they'll go out and do all these horrible f****** crazy unbelievable spectacular moves and nobody gets beat by one of them, but they get beat by the most vicious hold in wrestling, the schoolboy. I hate that. God damn I hate that, and shame on you guys for doing the school boy you lazy f***s. Is your f****** ego gotten so big that you won't f****** get beat by the guy's best manoeuvre? That's what I want to get beat by. I want to get beat by that guy's best manoeuvre, not a schoolboy where it's an accident and I'm such a p**** that I can't kick out. Give me a break guys. Get your head out of your ass. Have some respect for your fellow combatant and go out there and sell a little bit. That's my only b**** with these young guys. They don't sell s***," said Roberts.

Jake’s not a fan of modern selling then.
