Jamie Hayter Becomes Interim AEW Women's World Champion At Full Gear

With a little help from her friends

Jamie Hayter is the new interim AEW Women’s World champion, after defeating Toni Storm at AEW Full Gear on Saturday night in Newark.

Both Rebel and Britt Baker interfered late in the match, but Hayter was unable to score the pin off of their efforts. After several near falls between the two, Baker then removed the turnbuckle pad. While Storm did initially send Hayter crashing into Baker in the corner, Hayter eventually threw Storm into the exposed buckle, then followed up with a ripcord lariat to win.

Storm's time as interim Women's World titleholder ends after 76 days. She became interim champion on September 4, defeating Hayter, Baker, and Hikaru Shida in a four way match in Chicago at All Out.

The interim championship has been in use since lineal champion Thunder Rosa went out with a reported back injury in late August. No timetable has been given for Rosa's return to action.

Baker was in action earlier in the night, losing to Saraya in Saraya's first match since the end of 2017.
