Samoa Joe Wins AEW TNT Title At Full Gear

Joe now toting two belts

Samoa Joe is the new AEW TNT champion, after defeating Wardlow and Powerhouse Hobbs in a three way match at Full Gear on Saturday night in Newark.

Late in the match, Hobbs took Joe out on the floor by shoulder blocking him into the guardrail. Back inside the ring minutes later, Wardlow was putting Hobbs through the Powerbomb Symphony when Joe slid in and struck Wardlow with the TNT title. With Wardlow down, Joe choked out the barely-conscious Hobbs with the Cocquina Clutch to win the title.

The win makes Joe a dual champion, as he’s reigned as ROH Television champion since April. It's his first reign with any sanctioned AEW championship.

Wardlow's reign as champion ends after 136 days. He won the title from Scorpio Sky on July 6 in Rochester, NY. During his reign, Wardlow made seven successful defenses of the title, most recently on November 9.

Joe and Wardlow had been a regular tag team since the summer months, up until Joe turned on Wardlow on last week's episode of Dynamite.
