Jamie Hayter Wants AEW PPV Match With Hikaru Shida

Jamie Hayter speaks about Hikaru Shida - and wanting an AEW PPV match against her.

Current AEW Women's World Champion Jamie Hayter recently spoke to Dark Puroresu Flowsion (@PuroresuFlow on Twitter), and discussed fellow AEW roster-member Hikaru Shida. Hayter stated:

"I would happily wrestle Shida again, she is the real deal! She almost made me believe I might not beat her. But I love the challenge. I think doing it on a bigger stage at a pay-per-view will make things much more intense and raise the stakes even higher. Having that big match feel always escalates the situation, and I think she has even more to give. I want the challenge."

Hayter last faced Shida at Holiday Bash in December, and has been AEW Women's World Champion since defeating Toni Storm at Full Gear 2022 in November. Her current rivals appear to be the recently-turned heel duo of Saraya and Toni Storm.

Without ever formally turning babyface herself, Hayter has naturally become a fan favourite, earning consistently positive receptions in her bouts regardless of her opponent's standing.

Shida herself is a former AEW Women's World Champion, winning the belt back in May 2020 from Nyla Rose, before dropping it just over a year later to Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.
