Jay White is once again on the injured list, but prior to his injury there were potential plans to turn ‘Switchblade’ heel in All Elite Wrestling.
White was pulled from the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament after breaking his hand, with White written off TV after being attacked by The Death Riders. Per a report from Fightful Select, White was potentially set to play a big part at Dynasty, with it suggested that White could turn heel and play a part in the main event where Swerve Strickland lost his AEW World Championship match with Jon Moxley.
Whilst ‘King Switch’ being the one to cost Swerve or not has not been revealed, it is said that his injury caused ‘significant creative shifts’ ahead of the pay-per-view. White was originally set to face Will Ospreay in ‘The Owen’, but was replaced by Kevin Knight, whilst ultimately The Young Bucks were the ones to cost Strickland in the main event, making their return to AEW after a hiatus of several months.
The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion missed time in late 2024 due to a foot injury, with White returning to action at Dynamite’s Fifth Anniversary show in October.
