JBL Recalls Ribbing Paul Wight By Switching His WWE Entrance Music For 'All Star' By Smash Mouth
An angry Big Show charged to the ring

John Bradshaw Layfield was feeling brave during one of WWE's overseas tours.
On a recent edition of Stories With Brisco And Bradshaw, JBL recalled ribbing Paul Wight - then The Big Show - by switching out his entrance music for 'All Star' by Smash Mouth.
"Hey, we were in Europe one time and one of the greatest things is the ribs on the house shows. Those were so freaking good so I'm standing in the ring with Kurt Angle and Big Show's coming out and Big Show blames me for this but I can't control the music from the ring so obviously, I had at least an accomplice, probably somebody else that was directing it, which you guys can guess who that was," JBL began.
"So he comes out, 'Hey, it's Big Show,' his music is playing. It goes, 'Hey now, you're an all-star' and Kurt Angle looks at me and goes, 'What is that?' I go, 'That's Shrek's theme music' and so, Kurt looks at me and goes, 'Oh my God, he's gonna kill us.'
"Big Show hears it and he turns red and he starts sprinting to the ring and when he gets to the ring, I say, 'Kurt, listen, it's my fault, I did it. I'll take full responsibility.' So we're standing there. As soon as Big Show gets up [into] the ring, I said, 'I swear to God, Kurt Angle did it. I had nothing to do with it' and I jetted out of the ring."
JBL has often been criticised for allegedly bullying other WWE Superstars but Kurt Angle brushed off this criticism of Layfield earlier this year, noting the WWE Hall Of Famer's ribbing was a good thing.
