JD McDonagh Dealing With Injury
JD McDonagh currently injured
NXT star JD McDonagh is currently out with an injury, with the former NXT UK mainstay dealing with a detached retina.
McDonagh revealed his injury on Twitter, inferring that it was caused by Ilja Dragunov:
“.@WWENXT fans attending Live Events in Tampa/Citrus Springs this weekend - Unfortunately, after a sneak attack on Tuesday, I've got a detached retina in my right eye. Waiting on a treatment plan, but I estimate a 10-14 day recovery time. 10-14 days, @UNBESIEGBAR_ZAR. Count em,” Tweeted McDonagh, attaching a picture of his eyes.
Dragunov made his return to WWE NXT on February 7, distracting JD long enough to allow Carmelo Hayes to get the win in singles action before attacking McDonagh. Dragunov was written off of NXT TV in October following a loss to McDonagh, with reported visa issues keeping him away from TV.
Formerly rivals in NXT UK, McDonagh - then known as Jordan Devlin - was sent packing from NXT UK by Dragunov in a loser leaves town match in April 2022, with Dragunov’s WWE UK Championship also on the line.
