Jeff Hardy Retires... From Screwing Up

Jeff Hardy swerved AEW fans with a fake retirement tease

For a brief second, AEW fans thought that Jeff Hardy was retiring from professional wrestling, finally closing the book on a storied career jam-packed full of crazy moments, world title victories, controversy, and classic matches.

On the April 22 edition of AEW Rampage, Jeff Hardy took to the ring with his brother Matt Hardy, Isiah Kassidy of Private Party, and the FTW Champion Hook, and cut a promo talking about his journey back to AEW after a turbulent year and how he has worked hard to get to where he is now.

Hardy would then say, “The smartest thing for me to do… is retire… from screwing up!” There have been some fans that have called for a Hardy retirement amidst his recent arrest and charges, but this proved to be just a brief tease and swerve. He went on to say that he wants to end his career on an extremely high note in AEW instead of a “depressing low”.

Hardy’s return to competition looks to be the upcoming “Firm Deletion” match against members of The Firm.
