Jeff Hardy To Make Non-Wrestling Debut For GCW

Jeff Hardy will not be wrestling on GCW's August 4 show

AEW star Jeff Hardy is set to make his debut for Game Changer Wrestling.

GCW announced that the Charismatic Enigma will be coming to the promotion for the first time for their show in Detroit on August 4.

Hardy joins stars such as Mike Bailey, Lio Rush, Komander, Joey Janela, Nick Gage, Masha Slamovich, Blake Christian and more.

However, those hoping to see Jeff wrestle at the event are out of luck. GCW were quick to note in a follow up tweet that "Jeff will be appearing in person on the show but he is not wrestling".

The promotion also announced that the former WWE Champion will take the stage for a live concert performance immediately following the show. The concert is a separate admission.

Jeff's brother Matt recently noted that the 45-year-old is not currently wrestling on indie shows in a bid to help with his sobriety.

Speaking on the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt said:

"He doesn't wrestle on the indie scene right now. Jeff doesn't want to wrestle on indies. He only wants to wrestle on AEW right now. He's open doing signings and cons and stuff like that, but he only wants to do two a month. He's really put his foot down with that and I respect that and I'm cool with that".

Jeff was recently written off AEW television while the promotion tapes shows from Canada (with Hardy unable to enter the country due to his past convictions).
