Report: WBD In 'Deep' Extension Talks With AEW
AEW and WBD reportedly deep in contract extension talks
All Elite Wrestling have formed a successful partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, with the multimedia conglomerate green-lighting a raft of AEW projects over the past several years.
Reports have long suggested that the two sides were looking to enter negotiations over terms of a new deal, and a report from Fightful Select suggests AEW and WBD are ‘deep’ in extension talks.
The report states that WBD sources have confirmed that talks with AEW have been in progress for months, with an announcement expected to be made Summer/Autumn with regards to a potential new deal. WBD are reportedly very happy with AEW, with AEW and President Tony Khan said to be flexible with regards to schedule changes and overruns, as well as being able to offer a variety of different shows under the AEW umbrella.
Whilst nothing concrete has been suggested as to the nature of a potential new deal/extension, the WBD source told Fightful that the proposed deal would see a “huge money increase for AEW, by the way things are looking now.”
