Jeff Jarrett Involved With Revival Of Game Publisher Acclaim

Legendary video game publisher Acclaim has been revived and Jeff Jarrett is one of the major names involved with the new project.

The relaunched publisher will look to resurrect some of its classic IP and support indie game developers. Acclaim will provide funding, marketing, and PR support to indie developers they work with.

An advisory board for Acclaim has been set up and Jeff Jarrett - under the Global Force Entertainment banner - is one of the board members.

"For more than three decades, I've had the privilege to have been a part of both the wrestling and gaming universes, and I'm thrilled to now be a partner in the revival of Acclaim, an iconic publisher known for releasing some of the most legendary games of the '80s and '90s. From my early involvement with the publisher's hit 16-bit WWF titles to my experience helping shape the TNA Wrestling series, which spawned the first video game wrestler to become a full-time roster member in the squared circle, I've seen first-hand the type of impact great games can have on players and fans. Resurrecting Acclaim is an opportunity to impart the same degree of passion and love to a new generation, and I'm excited to be involved," Jarrett said.

Originally founded in 1987 by three former Activision employees, Acclaim became a worldwide publisher of video games, publishing the likes of Mortal Kombat, Turok, and NBA Jam. Acclaim also published WWE video games from 1989 until 1999, including WWF Superstars, WWF War Zone, and WWF Attitude. Acclaim also published ECW Hardcore Revolution and ECW Anarchy Rulz.

Jeff Jarrett re-signed with AEW in early 2025 in what will be the final contract of the TNA founder's career.
