Jericho Appreciation Society Disbands On AEW Dynamite

The Jericho Appreciation Society came to an end on AEW Dynamite

After several weeks of simmering tensions, issues between the Jericho Appreciation Society and leader Chris Jericho came to a head on the August 9 edition of AEW Dynamite.

Matt Menard called a ‘mandatory’ meeting of the group last week, with the full JAS opening Dynamite, airing their grievances with Jericho and his style of leadership. Daniel Garcia was the first to walk away after saying how he changed everything about himself to join Jericho but didn’t get the same loyalty back. Jake Hager was next to turn his back on Jericho, followed by Tay Melo, and Anna Jay, with every member explaining how they felt let down by ‘The Ocho’.

Angelo Parker was a little more diplomatic on the mic, expressing how much he loves being a sports entertainer, and how he has proudly fought every battle at Jericho’s side. Parker then said he didn’t want to do this, but he has nothing left to give Jericho, and also walked out. ‘Daddy Magic’ was next up, exclaiming how Chris Jericho was his childhood hero and how Jericho helped him into AEW. Menard then admitted he’s started to understand why people like Eddie Kingston and Kevin Steen hate Jericho’s guts, then also walked out.

Sammy Guevara was last in the ring with Jericho, slapping Jericho’s mic out of his hand and telling him to listen to ‘The Spanish God’ for once. Guevara noted his loyalty and said that Jericho is his friend, but said Jericho has a lot of stuff to work out, and if he does then maybe Sammy will be there for him.

This marks the end of Jericho’s second stable in AEW, with The JAS going the way of The Inner Circle. With Don Callis and Konosuke Takeshita waiting in the wings, it remains to be seen if Jericho fully embraces the two and joins with them permanently, with Jericho telling Callis that he'll have an announcement for him next week.
