Multiple Matches Set For WWE NXT Heatwave

After the show's debut in 2022, WWE are bringing back NXT Heatwave for a special episode of the Tuesday night show in two weeks on August 22. 

Two matches have already been announced for the show, including Ilja Dragunov vs. Trick Williams. The match was set up in a back-and-forth promo segment between the two competitors after Dragunov called out Trick. Williams was previously aligned with Carmelo Hayes on NXT TV but Trick told the NXT Champion they had to split so Williams could become his own man.

The NXT Heritage Cup Championship will also be on the line in two weeks. Noam Dar has been carrying around a fake Heritage Cup trophy in recent weeks but he was defeated by Tyler Bate for the unrecognised championship on August 8. Dar and Bate then argued backstage about who the titleholder was, which prompted Nathan Frazer to interfere and encourage Bate to give the trophy back to Dar. Bate did so before Frazer granted Dar a shot at the NXT Heritage Cup Championship at Heatwave.
