Jesse Ventura has alleged that the only reason Donald Trump was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013 was because he stopped an investigation into Vince McMahon that was related to "sexual stuff."

Ventura, after watching a clip of him interview Donald Trump at WWE WrestleMania XX, said on Piers Morgan Uncensored:

"I feel that simply I was doing my job, I was doing what I was asked to do at the WWE. Trump being a hall of famer is a tragedy. This guy has never been in the ring. I've got a good friend, Ken Patera, Olympian, first man to overhead press 500 lbs, 25 years in the wrestling business. Kenny Patera is not in the hall of fame. Donald Trump does not belong in the wrestling hall of fame. He never earned it. You know what I had to do to get in the pro wrestling hall of fame? At one point in my career, I wrestled 63 consecutive nights in a row. That's how you get in the hall of fame.

"When I was referring to putting a wrestler in the White House, I was talking about me, not him. Absolutely, I was the former governor of Minnesota. I'm the only real former wrestler, I don't include him. He's only in the hall of fame because he stopped an investigation against Vince McMahon, of sexual stuff."

An issue behind Jesse Ventura's allegation is that Donald Trump was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013, three years before he was elected president of the United States for the first time, 11 years before he was elected president for a second time, and nine years before a criminal investigation into sexual misconduct and sex trafficking allegations against Vince McMahon was opened by federal prosecutors for the Southern District of New York in 2022.

Lawyers for Vince McMahon have claimed since early 2025 that the criminal investigation is over. There has been no outright confirmation that the investigation stopped because of Donald Trump beyond conjecture that the investigation came to an end shortly after Trump was elected for a second presidential term in 2024 and that Linda McMahon is the United States secretary of education.

While the criminal investigation is claimed to be over, Vince McMahon is a defendant in multiple civil lawsuits, including Janel Grant's which accuses him of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and physical and emotional abuse. McMahon is also a defendant in a lawsuit filed by former WWE ring boys in which it is claimed that Vince and others were aware of the sexual abuse carried out by Mel Phillips but did nothing to prevent or stop it. In a third lawsuit McMahon is a defendant in, it is alleged that WWE's merger with UFC under TKO Group Holdings was unfair and that Endeavor was preselected by Vince McMahon as Ari Emanuel assured McMahon's future with WWE.
