For the first time in over a decade, Jesse "The Body" Ventura was in attendance for a WWE show as the former wrestler and commentator was shown meeting Triple H ahead of Monday Night Raw on July 29 from Saint Paul, Minnesota. It was then noted during commentary that Ventura was in the building and the 38th governor of Minnesota was welcomed back to WWE by Michael Cole.

Jesse Ventura reacted to his surprise return, tweeting: "Yes, it's true. The Body is back home. Thank you @TripleH and the whole @WWE family. @CMPunk looks like hell froze over... again."

Ventura then revealed why he returned, tweeting the above image with the caption: "Why did I come back? For moments like these... @WWE @CMPunk."

Ventura revealed back in May that he was in talks with WWE over a Legends deal, with 'The Body' noting that he had only begun negotiations due to the "change of direction in the company." Ventura enjoyed a contentious relationship with Vince McMahon and Ventura successfully sued WWE over unpaid royalties in the 1990s, although he did later make sporadic appearances in the company until 2009.

Vince McMahon is no longer involved with WWE, having resigned as TKO Executive Chairman in January 2024 following the filing of Janel Grant's lawsuit which accused him of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and physical and emotional abuse. WWE are named as a defendant in Grant's lawsuit, having been accused of trying to cover up the allegations against McMahon. John Laurinaitis is also a defendant on allegations of sexual assault.
