Jim Cornette Says Tony Khan Told Him AEW Wanted To Sign Goldberg

Cody previously stated the promotion and Goldberg had no contact...

On a recent edition of the Jim Cornette Experience, the former National Wrestling Alliance commentator said All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan wanted to sign Goldberg. Khan also reportedly had big plans for the WWE Hall Of Famer as he wanted to recreate Goldberg's 173-0 streak.

Cornette said: "Goldberg was huge on Tony Khan's f*****g want list. He wanted to have Goldberg come out and do the streak over again."

Cody Rhodes denied there was an truth to Cornette's claim, however, as he tweeted: "This isn't real. We had no contact ha."

Cornette fired back yesterday in a since-deleted tweet and said he found out about Khan's plans for the former WCW star during one of their "very few conversations."

The former WWE manager wrote: "Well I guess he didn't tell Cody, but it came directly from his lips to my ears so you can believe what you want, I don't give a shit. Was never going to happen anyway and I knew that. "Ideas" like this one of Mr. Khan's were why he and I had very few conversations. #AmateurHour."
