Jim Ross Suffers Broken Hip

The legendary Jim Ross has broken his hip

All Elite Wrestling announcer and industry legend Jim Ross has suffered a broken hip.

The veteran announcer has been undergoing cancer treatment on his hip amidst an extended absence from AEW, but the WWE Hall of Famer is excited to return to work, posting the following update on his condition on X/Twitter:

“First full day on Jax Beach and out of the rehab facility! Using a cane for now. Improving daily. Broken hip responding well. Excited for my future with @AEW!” posted Ross.

The veteran commentator had been calling the main event matches on AEW Collision before being taken off the road to heal from several ailments in late 2023. Ross successfully underwent cancer surgery in early February, and has made no secret of his desire to be back in the commentary booth to call Sting’s final match at AEW Revolution on March 3, 2024, with Ross wanting to call Sting & Darby Allin vs. The Young Bucks with Tony Schiavone.

J.R. has been with AEW since the launch of Dynamite in 2019, and entered contract renegotiation talks with the promotion in late 2023.
