John Cena Details Recent WWE SmackDown Interaction With The Rock
John Cena and The Rock were recently reunited on WWE SmackDown
The Rock recently made his return to WWE with an unannounced appearance on the September 15 edition of SmackDown, before bumping into old rival John Cena in a backstage segment.
Cena and Rock’s relationship has been frosty over the years, with Cena criticising The Rock for ‘distancing himself’ from WWE before the two eventually headlined WrestleMania 28 and 29. Cena would go on to publicly apologise to The Rock after also swapping WWE for Hollywood, and on a recent episode of WWE’s The Bump, the multi-time World Champion spoke of his current relationship with ‘The People’s Champ’:
“In between the times we've spent with each other, I've openly come to a realisation that the first foray into us competing against each other probably was a professional mistake on my part. I've been very apologetic and open with my apology that the way I conducted business was in the realm of trying to do good business, and we did great business.
“It was really nice to see a friend who's actually generous with his time. We actually conversed for a little bit and that's the first time we'd seen each other since publicly apologising for that. and I just wanted to make sure he heard it from me face-to-face as well, and it was really nice to see a friend,” said Cena.
