John Cena Match Official For WWE Fastlane

John Cena is set to take on two opponents at WWE Fastlane.

Last night's Raw saw the confirmation of a John Cena bout for WWE Fastlane on October 7, as he takes on Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa in a Handicap Match.

The show, which is set to take place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, will be the site of Cena's second premium live event match of the year. The first came at WrestleMania 39 where he lost to Austin Theory in a bout for the United States Championship.

The build to the match stems from last week's SmackDown, where Cena was supposed to team with AJ Styles to take on Jimmy and Solo. Instead, however, the Bloodline attacked Styles and he was hospitalised, leaving Cena alone to be beaten down in the main event segment of the show. Several reports indicate that LA Knight was potentially supposed to be involved, but was diagnosed with COVID before the show.

It remains to be seen whether Cena will find a partner or ally in time for Fastlane, thereby altering the match. Knight would make sense as a partner after Cena was the special guest referee for his victory over The Miz at Payback. Additionally, The Rock sensationally made a return to WWE on a recent edition of SmackDown and hugged Cena in a backstage segment (although he hasn't had an official match since defeating Erick Rowan in seconds at WrestleMania 32.)
