John Cena Set To Have Short Full-Time WWE Run

John Cena coming back for more in WWE

John Cena will be around in WWE for a little while longer than initially expected. 

Cena will be returning to WWE on the Friday, September 1 episode of SmackDown at the GIANT Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania ahead of his match at Superstar Spectacle in India on September 8 where he will team with Seth Rollins to take on Imperium's Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci. 

Cena will remain on SmackDown through the end of October, WWE have announced. Cena is set to be at every Friday night show from September 15 in Denver until the October 27 SmackDown in Milwaukee.  Cena will also host children and their families at these events through his partnership with Make-A-Wish. 

Cena has been a part-time WWE talent stretching back to 2016 when he began to transition to acting. He has made multiple appearances on WWE TV in 2023, losing to Austin Theory in the opening match of WrestleMania 39 before the 16-time world champion made an appearance at Money in the Bank to campaign for WrestleMania in London.
