Report: Jack Perry Likely To Receive More Of The Blame From AEW Management For All In Altercation With CM Punk

Jack Perry likely to get more of the blame for what happened at AEW All In

The fallout from the backstage altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry continues, with several more reports being published since the incident took place at Sunday's All In pay-per-view.

As previously mentioned, the incident came about after Jack Perry said "It's real glass, cry me a river" during his Zero Hour match with HOOK, referring to the argument he had with Punk at an AEW Collision taping earlier this Summer. HOOK then put Perry through a limousine windscreen with a Fisherman's Buster.

Different versions of the altercation have emerged, with Punk's side claiming that Perry stepped in Punk's face and "bumped" the 44-year-old. Punk then pushed Perry which prompted the former FTW Champion to come at Punk. Punk then choked him. Other recollections have stated that Punk approached Perry, threw the first punch and grabbed the younger talent in a front face lock.

Wade Keller of PWTorch, meanwhile, reported that Punk got in Jack Perry's face as he headed to the Gorilla position for his match with Samoa Joe. Punk asked if they had a problem. Perry mentioned details of their arguments leaking online, with Perry believing Punk's camp did so in an attempt to show him up and embarrass him. After words were exchanged, Punk pie-faced Perry, put him in a face lock and threw punches at him.

Haus of Wrestling, meanwhile, has reported that Punk was waiting at Gorilla before his match with Samoa Joe and Perry walked up to him. Punk began the verbal argument, asking if the former Jungle Boy had something to say. The conversation escalated from there and Perry told Punk to "do something about it." Punk then did something about it, pushing Perry which led to a shoving match before Punk put Perry in a chokehold.

Fightful Select noted that Perry viewed his shot at Punk during the Zero Hour match as a receipt for the real glass argument being made public. Perry told a couple of people before All In that he was planning to make a comment during his match with HOOK.

Following the altercation, Jack Perry and CM Punk both left Wembley Stadium, Punk a little later due to his match with Samoa Joe. Haus of Wrestling has claimed that Punk then ordered Nandos for some of the talent he met up with after All In.

Tony Khan announced following All In that the altercation was under investigation. Both Perry and Punk have been suspended pending the results of that investigation.

Wade Keller of PWTorch has reported that a source close to management believes Jack Perry is likely to receive a larger portion of the blame for the altercation because he initiated the issues through his Zero Hour comments and he should've known it would cause an issue as "Punk doesn't let those type of things slide." This doesn't mean there isn't growing frustration within the promotion with CM Punk as his leadership style is considered controversial and continues to lead to escalating situations that could be avoided if he just let things slide and handled issues in a less inflammatory manner.

Tony Khan has also received a portion of the blame for what happened, with a veteran AEW talent saying that Khan has "fostered an environment where younger wrestlers without a lot of experience in the national spotlight feel free to 'go into business for themselves' online or live on TV to try to settle scores or send messages." The same wrestler believes Punk overreacted but that more firm leadership would have prevented some wrestlers from beginning these types of situations in the first place.

It has previously been noted that AEW talents are concerned about Khan's relationship with CM Punk.
