John Cena Status For WWE Clash At The Castle Revealed

Will John Cena be at WWE Clash At The Castle?

WWE's biggest pay-per-view in the United Kingdom since 1992 will take place next month when the company heads to Cardiff, Wales, on September 3 for Clash At The Castle.

Three matches have already been added to the card, including an Undisputed WWE Universal Title match between Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre. This leaves several spots on the card still open, but John Cena will not be in action at the show.

"I've been coming to Cardiff to fight for 15-plus years, and every time, it's exciting and amazing. I'm not going to be at Clash," Cena revealed during a Q&A at Wales Comic-Con. Cena was booed for his answer.

The 16-time world champion has not competed in a televised WWE match since SummerSlam 2021 when he lost a Universal Title match to Roman Reigns. He has only made sporadic appearances in WWE in recent years due to his burgeoning career in Hollywood.

Cena did tell the crowd in Wales that he isn't done in the ring, though, revealing that his favourite match is the next one he has.

"My answer is always the same. My next one. I haven't yet hit the point where I'm fully retired, so I can always say my next one. Someday, I'll have to reflect back and pick a favorite, but I know I'm not done with the ring, so my next one is my favorite one," he said.
