At the Money In The Bank 2025 PLE, R-Truth made a stunning return to WWE programming after news emerged of the company not extending his expiring deal. This led to a whirlwind of fan rejection to WWE’s decision and hijacking of shows. Truth returned with a new attitude and persona, going under the name of Ron Killings instead - his real name. It was reported that he requested a name change and a new coat of paint on his character, returning under a deal that would give him “one final run”.
On last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Killings made his presence known not once, but twice, attacking Cena on both occasions, much like he did at Money In The Bank. With a new dangerous side and serious gimmick, Killings was hell bent on revenge.
It wasn’t long until WWE announced a rematch between Cena and Killings, following up on their clash last month at the Saturday Night’s Main Event, in which WWE Champion Cena completely destroyed his opponent in a matter of minutes. It will take place on next week’s episode of SmackDown, emanating from Grand Rapids, Michigan. This will mark another appearance off on Cena’s retirement tour, which is trickling down quite quickly, and will also be one of his final matches prior to hanging up the boots. Cena is also scheduled for a Saudi Arabia clash at Night Of Champions against CM Punk.
