Jon Moxley Returns To NJPW, Challenges Lance Archer For Wrestle Kingdom 14

Death Rider rides again...

Just days after defeating Joey Janela in Champaign, IL in the main event of AEW Dynamite, Jon Moxley showed up at New Japan's World Tag League event on Sunday in Hiroshima, and issued a challenge to the man holding the gold that was once his.

Moxley emerged from the crowd after reigning IWGP United States champion Lance Archer and partner Minoru Suzuki defeated Hirooki Goto and Karl Fredericks in tournament action. He then laid both Archer and Suzuki out with the Paradigm Shift.

After that, Moxley grabbed the microphone, saying he wanted his belt back, and would get it back in a Texas Death Match at Wrestle Kingdom 14.

Moxley then tried to put Archer through a table at ringside, but Archer fought back and the two brawled to the locker room.

Archer won the United States title on October 14, in an impromptu number one contender's match over Juice Robinson. Moxley was supposed to defend the title against Robinson on that date, but a typhoon that struck Japan that weekend created travel issues for him, so the belt was vacated.
