Jon Moxley's Opponent For Forbidden Door 2024 Revealed
Jon Moxley will be defending the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Forbidden Door 2024
At NJPW’s Dominion 2024 PPV, Jon Moxley successfully defended the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against EVIL in a chaotic Lumberjack Match.
The bout saw a sea of interference from the House Of Torture stable (suprise, surprise) with Moxley looking severely outnumbered for much of the match. After suffering several attacks, a low blow, Dick Togo throwing powder in his eyes, among other forms of nefarious heel acts, Moxley used a barbed wire bat to battle off his competition, and then hit EVIL with cutter, curb stomp, and Death Rider finisher combination to put down EVIL and walked out with the gold.
In the aftermath of the title match, former champion Tetsuya Naito emerged and it was made official that he would be taking on Jon Moxley at the upcoming Forbidden Door PPV event. Moxley defeated Naito for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at the NJPW Windy City Riot show back in April. This will be Naito’s rematch for the gold. During his reign thus far, Moxley has defeated names such as Ren Narita, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Shota Umino in title matches.
