Kairi Sane Added To WWE SmackDown Roster Following Return

Kairi Sane made her long awaited WWE return at Crown Jewel on November 4, helping IYO SKY retain the WWE Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair.

Now officially part of the company once more, Sane’s profile has been updated on WWE.com, with it revealed that the former NXT Women’s Champion has been added to the SmackDown roster, joining IYO SKY and her Damage CTRL teammates Bayley and Dakota Kai.

Whether Sane joins up with Damage CTRL proper remains to be seen, with Bayley looking decidedly apprehensive about Sane’s re-emergence, and embrace with SKY. Prior to Sane’s WWE exit in 2020, Bayley took ‘The Pirate Princess’ off of WWE TV with a backstage attack. Rumours have suggested that Sane and SKY could be joined by talent that “no one will see coming”, as well as a close friend.

Sane originally wrestled for WWE from 2016 until 2020, exiting the company to return to Japan to be with her husband. Despite no longer wrestling for WWE, Sane remained an ambassador for the company until December 2021.
