Kairi Sane Confirms Why She Has Been Off WWE TV

Kairi Sane has not appeared on WWE programming in 2025 and the former NXT Women's Champion has confirmed the reason for her absence.

Taking to X/Twitter, Sane revealed that she tore a ligament in her thumb and she has been off TV while recovering from surgery.

"Three months ago, I tore a ligament in my thumb and couldn't even open a bottle cap. Now, I've fully regained my grip strength - and I'm even stronger than before. I'm truly grateful from the bottom of my heart to Dr. Hirsch, who performed my surgery. He was such a kind and wonderful doctor. I wish I had taken a photo with him to remember that moment," Sane wrote.

Kairi has not wrestled since the December 2, 2024 edition of Monday Night Raw where Sane and Damage CTRL stablemate IYO SKY lost to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Sane was then written off TV with a Pure Fusion Collective attack, removing her from the Women's Intercontinental Title tournament in the process.

When Kairi Sane will make her return to WWE TV is unknown. The former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion was expected back at any time, according to PWInsider.
