Karl Fredericks' WWE Name Revealed

Karl Fredericks' name in WWE has been revealed.

The former New Japan Pro-Wrestling talent will make his WWE TV debut on the February 17 edition of NXT Level Up and WWE have confirmed Fredericks will be known as Eddy Thorpe going forward. Thorpe will go one-on-one with Dante Chen on Level Up, which will air on Peacock and the WWE Network at 10 pm ET. 

The new ring name appears to be a tribute to Native American athlete Jim Thorpe. Fredericks is also Native American. 

Fredericks signed with WWE in January, months after he had a private tryout at the Performance Center in Orlando. This came after Fredericks allowed his NJPW contract to expire in the summer of 2022 following four years with the promotion. 

Fredericks recently appeared at an NXT house show to confront Axiom. If that programme will be transferred over to NXT TV remains to be seen.

Also announced for NXT Level Up is Ivy Nile vs. Valentina Feroz and Xyon Quinn vs. Oba Femi.
