Could Kazuchika Okada head through the forbidden door?

Since New Japan Pro-Wrestling and AEW started working together in early 2021, several NJPW stars have appeared in an AEW ring, including the likes of Minoru Suzuki, Yuji Nagata, Satoshi Kojima and Tomohiro Ishii. AEW's Best Friends, Orange Cassidy and Wheeler Yuta have also joined NJPW's Chaos faction, strengthening the links between both promotions.

Kazuchika Okada has yet to appear in Tony Khan's promotion but this doesn't mean The Rainmaker is uninterested in facing AEW talent.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Okada revealed he wants to face CM Punk and Bryan Danielson before they retire.

"Danielson and Punk would make for some incredible matches. A lot of those dream match scenarios are about getting excited for the possibilities, and once the match is done, it's done. So it is important to keep that excitement and anticipation, I think. Still, if we wait too long, they'll both retire eventually, so I want to face them both while they're still active," Okada admitted.

The new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion also commented on Best Friends joining Chaos, noting it would be fun if the AEW talents could show up in NJPW with Orange Cassidy and Wheeler Yuta.

"The Best Friends were part of Chaos when they were in New Japan, and with the door to AEW being opened a bit, it added more possibilities. [Tomohiro] Ishii was able to come into AEW from Chaos, and if Orange Cassidy and the Best Friends were able to show up in New Japan, there is no doubt that would be a lot of fun. The sooner the whole pandemic settles down, the better as far as that's concerned," Okada continued.
