Ken Shamrock Vs Moose Added to Impact Wrestling Bound For Glory

A generational battle...

Seventeen years after becoming the first NWA World Champion in the era of what was then called NWA: Total Nonstop Action, Ken Shamrock will wrestle his first match in over 15 years for the promotion.

Impact Wrestling has confirmed that Shamrock will go one on one with Moose at Bound For Glory, which takes place in Chicago on October 20.

The 55-year-old MMA trailblazer began sparring with Moose over social media in the preceding weeks, leading to Shamrock making an appearance at the company's Las Vegas TV tapings last weekend.

In his earlier time with the company, Shamrock won the NWA World title on the company's first broadcast, defeating Malice at the end of a 20-man "Gauntlet for the Gold" on June 19, 2002. He departed from the company less than two months later, after dropping the title to Ron "The Truth" Killings (presently known as R-Truth).

Shamrock had one more very brief run with TNA in the summer of 2004, acting as a mercenary for Jeff Jarrett.

Dave Meltzer has reported that Shamrock is expected to remain with the company for a time after Bound For Glory.
