AEW’s Kenny Omega has fired back at online trolls who have posted disrespectful comments online about Omega and the AEW Women’s Division.

Omega had originally posted his support for the division in the wake of Britt Baker defending the AEW Women’s World Championship against Riho at Battle of the Belts on Saturday night, saying:

“A great #aew main event tonight! @riho_gtmv ‘s combination of technique, heart, and natural ability are unparalleled. Can she dethrone the DMD megastar @RealBrittBaker ? (No spoilers) Excited now for the next barn burner between @SerenaDeeb and @shidahikaru in their ongoing feud.”

But after being on the receiving end of some venomous comments, Omega followed up saying:

“It felt nice to tweet something I was passionate about, but yikes, what a mistake. What compels people to leave cruel comments about others on my page? If you like someone/someplace else, congrats. No need to go way out of your way to tweet at someone you already hate.”

Several Twitter users were personal in their attacks on Riho, Baker, and the AEW Women’s division, while others heaped homophobic abuse at Omega, accused the former AEW World Champion of paedophilia, and called into question Omega’s friendship with Marty Scurll, with Scurll accused of sexual misconduct during 2020's Speaking Out Movement.
