Kenny Omega Health Update

Latest on Kenny Omega’s condition after diverticulitis diagnosis

Kenny Omega was ruled out of action in December 2023 after revealing he has diverticulitis, with the former All Elite Wrestling World Champion out of action ‘indefinitely’.

In a update on Omega’s condition, Dave Meltzer reports in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Omega still hasn’t undergone surgery, with the initial inflammation ‘so bad’ that surgery was not possible at the time.

A further decision will reportedly be made ‘in about seven weeks’ as to whether to proceed with surgery or not, based on how Omega is healing. Obviously, any surgery would keep Omega out of action longer than if he healed significantly without, and as such there is still no timeframe on when Omega could return to in-ring competition.

Omega’s latest setback comes a little over a year after he made his return from multiple injuries and a case of vertigo, with Omega taking most of 2022 off in order to adequately heal up. Omega returned to action shortly before All Out 2022, and was suspended after the infamous pay per view due to his part in the backstage fight with CM Punk and Ace Steel alongside The Young Bucks.
