Kenny Omega Rejected AEW Continental Classic Spot

Kenny Omega was offered a spot in the AEW Continental Classic

The Continental Classic is AEW’s newest tournament, and it has seen some of the best talents in the world going at it week after week. Tony Khan hasn’t shied away from throwing some big stars into the tournament, with the likes of Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Jay White, and Swerve Strickland being among those in the two Continental Classic groups, all of whom are frontrunners to win.

Someone else who could’ve been involved was Kenny Omega - a mouth watering prospect for sure. Bryan Danielson recently spoke to the Daily Mail, and noted that he did in fact want Omega in the tournament, with the opportunity even being brought to the former AEW World Champion. However, it looks as though Omega may have rejected it.

'I really wanted Kenny Omega in it and I don't know. People think I do a lot more than I do. I don't know what happened or why he's not in the tournament. I know it was at least brought up to him and I don't know if he didn't want to do it or I know that he and Chris Jericho are the number one contenders for the Tag team championship. So maybe that's why, you know. And sometimes, you know, with American TV wrestling. You don't want to confuse stories, and maybe that's why. But I love the field that we have, cause we have so many like great hard hitting wrestlers. The matches have been really, really good so far in the Continental classic.'

Andrade, Brody King, Jon Moxley, and Swerve Strickland are still undefeated in the Continental Classic, with everyone else losing at least once thus far, including Danielson.
