There will be one final AEW World Championship match in 2020 and new champion Kenny Omega will defend the title against Rey Fenix on night one of New Year's Smash.

After The Best Bout Machine defeated Joey Janela in the main event of Dynamite, Death Triangle made their way to the stage. PAC told Omega they have some unfinished business and reminded the champion Rey Fenix was never defeated in the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament.

PAC then suggested Omega defend the title against Fenix and after an angry outburst from Don Callis, The Bastard revealed the match had already been sanctioned by Tony Khan and The Cleaner will put the belt on the line against The Lucha Brother on December 30.

This will be the second time Omega and Fenix have faced off for a world championship. The two men went one on one at AAA Heroes Inmortales XIII for the AAA Mega Championship. The Best Bout Machine walked away with the win on that occasion and has remained AAA Mega Champion ever since.
