WWE NXT Championship Match Set For New Year's Evil

Finn Balor's return match is official...

WWE's black and gold brand will kick off 2021 with New Year's Evil on January 6.

The first matches on the card were announced last night and Finn Balor will defend the NXT Championship against Kyle O'Reilly in the main event.

The match was made official after O'Reilly defeated Pete Dunne in a number one contender's match. The Undisputed ERA member picked up the win after he countered a Bitter End on the apron into a Suplex. He then rolled The Bruiserweight back into the ring and delivered a Knee Strike to the back of Dunne's head for the 1-2-3.

January 6 will be the first time Balor has stepped inside the squared circle since he last faced O'Reilly at NXT TakeOver: 31. The Prince retained the NXT Title on that night but left the Capitol Wrestling Center with a broken jaw.

Karrion Kross vs. Damian Priest was also added to the New Year's Evil card. The Herald Of Doomsday returned from injury last week and attacked Priest after The Archer Of Infamy disrespected him and Scarlett earlier in the night.

The host of New Year's Evil will be Dexter Lumis.
