Kenny Omega Teases Match With Mercedes Moné
Kenny Omega suggests a match with Mercedes Moné is possible
With Mercedes Moné riding high as the IWGP Women’s Champion, and Kenny Omega once again IWGP United States Champion, it was inevitable that their paths would cross.
It was recently revealed that a documentary chronicling Moné’s NJPW debut has been produced, with footage showing Moné and Omega interacting. On Twitter ‘The CEO” acknowledged this, Tweeting:
“So nice to meet you @KennyOmegamanX until our paths meet again”
With Omega quickly suggesting the two could share a ring in the future:
“Our work with NJPW isn’t quite done yet, so I’m sure they will! I hear they sometimes do mix matches now too…”
The two were both in attendance for New Japan’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 event on January 4 in the Tokyo Dome, with Moné making her debut at the event, whilst Omega made his return.
The working relationship between AEW and NJPW is strong, and with a rumoured AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2 event in the works for June, then it’s possible that a match featuring Omega and Moné could happen sooner rather than later.
