Report: Date Revealed For AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2?

Has a date been revealed for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2?

It was unexpectedly one of the best PPV events of 2022 despite a seemingly last-minute build, but it seems that a sequel to AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door could be confirmed for 2023.

The landmark crossover show in June 2022 received multiple show of the year plaudits, with fans eager for AEW to announce a follow-up event. Whilst Tony Khan has hinted that the show will return in 2023, there’s been nothing publicly confirmed as of yet, although American PPV listings suggest the date for the event has been revealed.

US PPV provider Spectrum Cable may have accidentally revealed that the show is taking place, listing Forbidden Door 2 for June 24 on its upcoming PPV schedule, with AEW: Double or Nothing 2023 set for May 28.

The inaugural Forbidden Door event ran on June 26 2022 from Chicago’s United Center and saw Jon Moxley defeat Hiroshi Tanahashi for the Interim AEW World Championship, whilst Jay White successfully defended his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in four-way action against Adam Cole, Hangman Page, and Kazuchika Okada.
