Report: Reason For Cameron Grimes' NXT Absence
Cameron Grimes has been absent from NXT for several months
It’s been nearly four months since Cameron Grimes last competed in an NXT ring, with the former Million Dollar Champion last appearing on the November 8 2022 edition of NXT TV in a loss to Joe Gacy.
As for where Grimes has been, a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio suggests there is a reason behind his extended absence:
“Cameron Grimes was finishing up in NXT because he was being called to the main roster and right now what's going on is that they are waiting for an idea on the main roster so he's in limbo. He's finished with NXT, he's supposed to be on the main roster but they don't have a story for him so they haven't debuted him yet and they're waiting to come up with a story for him,” revealed Meltzer.
A former NXT North American Champion and three time IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion, Grimes has been with WWE since January 2019, making his NXT TV debut in July 2019.
