Kenny Omega Undergoes Diverticulitis Surgery

Kenny Omega has surgery

Kenny Omega has gone under the knife.

Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp has reported that Kenny Omega underwent surgery last week to assist with his recovery from diverticulitis. Omega had the surgery on May 16 in New York.

There is no word on when Kenny Omega will be back on All Elite Wrestling programming and there are no creative plans for the former AEW World Champion at the moment.

Omega has not wrestled since being diagnosed with diverticulitis in December, a bout of illness which left him with only 24 hours to live while he was hospitalised. The 40-year-old returned to AEW TV on the May 1 edition of Dynamite in his hometown of Winnipeg amid a power struggle in the promotion after The Elite took out Tony Khan. Omega was promptly laid out by the Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, and Jack Perry to write him off TV.

Omega did make a brief appearance via satellite shortly after to announce an Anarchy in the Arena Match for Double or Nothing that will pit The Elite against Team AEW of FTR, Bryan Danielson, and Darby Allin.
