Kenny Omega won't be wrestling on AEW TV for a "long time."

The Best Bout Machine made his return to All Elite Wrestling on the May 1 edition of Dynamite from his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Omega cut a promo on the show, noting that he spent 10 days in the hospital while he was battling diverticulitis in December 2023 and he at one point only had 24 hours to live. Any damage to Kenny Omega's midsection was a "ticking time bomb" but he made a promise to himself after watching Dynasty that he was going to exhaust every avenue to return.

Omega then moved on to addressing The Young Bucks before he came face-to-face with Kazuchika Okada and challenged him to a match for a "few months" down the line. Omega was soon laid out by Jack Perry before The Young Bucks hit Omega with an EVP Trigger just before Dynamite went off the air. Omega was then dumped off his stretcher onto the cement floor in the opening minutes of Rampage.

Omega has still yet to undergo surgery following his diverticulitis diagnosis and Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio it is going to be a "long time" before Omega is able to have the match with Kazuchika Okada.

"It's going to be a long time. He has still not had the surgery and after the surgery it's gonna take months for him to return... Obviously the plan is for them [Okada and Omega] to wrestle but I don't think that there's a date imminent and it's probably not any time soon," Meltzer said.

Kenny Omega remains an AEW EVP. He recently heaped praise on Kurt Angle, calling him the most complete wrestler of all time.
