Pro Wrestling NOAH announced that the two foundation stones of its legendary junior division are set to reunite when KENTA returns to the promotion to team with old partner/rival Naomichi Marufuji.

The two are set to take on GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Takashi Sugiura and Satoshi Kojima at NOAH The New Year 2023 on Sunday, January 1 from the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan.

This will be the first time that KENTA and Marufuji will have teamed together since 2014, with the former GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Champions defeating Katsuhiko Nakajima and Takashi Sugiura in Korakuen Hall on their last outing.

The match at NOAH The New Year will be KENTA’s first in a NOAH ring since Noah The New Year 2022, where KENTA teamed with Sugiura-gun to defeat Daiki Inaba, Masa Kitamiya, and Yoshiki Inamura.

KENTA and Marufuji haven’t wrestled together since 2018, when Marufuji defeated the then-Hideo Itami at the NOAH Naomichi Marufuji 20th Anniversary Show.

Matches announced for NOAH The New Year 2023:

  • Takashi Sugiura & Satoshi Kojima (c) vs. KENTA & Naomichi Marufuji - GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Championships
  • Kaito Kiyomiya (c) vs. Kenoh - GHC Heavyweight Championship
