Kevin Nash Thinks Roman Reigns Has To Reach 1,000 Days As WWE Universal Champion

Kevin Nash thinks WWE have to ensure Roman Reigns hit 1,000 days as Universal Champion

Kevin Nash has defended the booking decision to have Roman Reigns defeat Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 39 to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, stating that WWE has to book Reigns to pass 1,000 days as Universal Champion.

Nash said on his Kliq This podcast

"That close to 1,000 [days], you have to do it. It'd be like if [Cal] Ripken had turf toe and would have f*****g just taken a day off. There's certain milestones, and right now, he's too close to 1,000. You're only gonna be as successful as your f*****g top guy, and Roman's the top guy right now. Roman has the cool factor, Roman's your money guy. They did it with me and Bret. If I would have beaten Bret out of the shoot, I think absolutely Diesel has a much better f*****g run. But the fact that they wouldn't commit and put the f*****g eggs in the basket, I think that it hurt me, and I think that they weren't ready to make that commitment. Things had went too well."

Unless WWE suddenly book Reigns in a title match and have him lose the belts, the 37-year-old will reach 1,000 days as Universal Champion on May 27 at the Night of Champions pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia. Reigns has been Undisputed WWE Universal Champion since he defeated Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship and unify the titles at WrestleMania 38.
