Konosuke Takeshita Announced For AJPW Appearance

Konosuke Takeshita set for AJPW appearance

Konosuke Takeshita is set to wrestle for All Japan Pro Wrestling later this month, the All Elite Wrestling star’s first appearance in AJPW since 2016.

Takeshita is set to team with Hideki Okatani against Yuma Aoyagi and Atsuki Aoyagi on January 27 in Hachioji, Japan. Takeshita has wrestled in an All Japan ring on four previous occasions, and currently has a 100% record in the promotion.

2024 is sure to be a big year for the Callis Family member, coming on the back of a breakout 2023 that saw Takeshita pin Kenny Omega twice on AEW pay-per-view. Takeshita was last in action at AEW Worlds End on December 30, 2023, teaming with Powerhouse Hobbs, Ricky Starks, and Big Bill in an eight-man tag team loss to Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, and Sting.

The event on January 27 will be the second instance of AJPW working with a major American wrestling company in 2024, with WWE NXT star Charlie Dempsey having teamed with Yuma Anzai to defeat Hideki Suzuki and Triple Crown Champion Katsuhiko Nakajima on January 2. Dempsey unsuccessfully challenged for the Triple Crown earlier today.
