Roman Reigns To Appear On WWE SmackDown New Year's Revolution

Roman Reigns set to appear on WWE SmackDown

Roman Reigns will be making an appearance on the special New Year's Revolution edition of Friday Night SmackDown. The show will emanate from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada on January 5.

SmackDown is set to feature a Triple Threat between Randy Orton, LA Knight, and AJ Styles to determine who will challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble on January 27. The match will be Reigns' first title defence since November's Crown Jewel pay-per-view.

Reigns was advertised for this week's SmackDown back in November 2023 but his appearance was made official following The Rock's comments on Monday Night Raw where he teased a match with Reigns, noting he might want to eat while seated at the Head of the Table. Reigns simply replied with a crying with laughter emoji but speculation has suggested a match could take place at WrestleMania 40 or Elimination Chamber.

Also announced for Friday's SmackDown is the final of the United States Title number one contender's tournament of Kevin Owens vs. Santos Escobar, IYO SKY vs. Michin for the WWE Women's Championship, and Butch & a mystery partner vs. Pretty Deadly.
