Kota Ibushi’s recent match in Pro Wrestling NOAH against Naomichi Marufuji at New Year 2024 was dragged through the mud by fans online due to the 39 minute bout falling apart thanks to an injury to Ibushi, which was made worse throughout the match after a moonsault saw him land awkwardly on both ankles.
Ibushi has issued an apology on X for his performance, whilst also blaming a clinic who scammed him when it comes to his medical condition, “I was scammed by a place called C5 Clinic, which is spread all over the country, as I mentioned before. Take care of yourself, please. I think NOAH will release information about my surgery, fractures and dislocations, etc. I'm sorry for the match, everyone. It's all my fault.”
After the match, Ibushi was taken to hospital despite walking out under his own power, but had to be treated due to being in a lot of pain. In the aftermath of this, Ibushi has also revealed via X that he will undergo surgery for his injured ankle, getting treatment to his right ligament.
