Kota Ibushi Officially Signs With AEW

Kota Ibushi has officially signed with AEW

Kota Ibushi is officially ‘All Elite’.

The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion has been working with AEW since his return from injury in mid 2023, but after victory in the Like a Dragon Gaiden Street Fight on AEW Dynamite, AEW President Tony Khan took to Twitter/X to reveal that ‘The Golden Star’ had officially signed with the organisation:

“The Golden Star won the @SEGA LIKE A DRAGON GAIDEN STREET FIGHT tonight on #AEWDynamite on TBS, and now it's official: @ibushi_kota is ALL ELITE!”

Heralded as one of the finest wrestlers of his generation, Ibushi has wrestled four times for AEW, and wrestled at the pre-AEW supershow All In in 2018.

A mainstay of DDT Pro in Japan, Ibushi also had two storied runs in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, first in the Jr. Heavyweight division, whilst his second run in the late 2010s saw Ibushi became a main eventer for the promotion, unifying the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and the IWGP Intercontinental Championship to become the first ever IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.
