Kota Ibushi Reveals If He Is Interested In Joining AEW Following NJPW Exit

Could Kota Ibushi be heading to AEW? Find out below!

Following four years with the promotion, Kota Ibushi is no longer a part of New Japan Pro-Wrestling, with NJPW confirming that his contract expired at midnight JST on February 1.

This has prompted intense speculation about the future of The Golden Star, with many tipping him to join All Elite Wrestling, a promotion where he has many friends, most prominently Kenny Omega.

Ibushi has commented on potentially wrestling for AEW, telling Dark Puroresu Flowsion that he thinks he will speak with the promotion after he has set up his own wrestling school in Japan.

"A lot of my best friends are in AEW. My younger peers in Japan are also growing up [there?]. Nonetheless, I don't think of going to AEW immediately. I want to have a 'school' in Japan. Once that's been worked out, I think I'll talk with AEW," Ibushi said.

Ibushi will be wrestling in the United States later this year and he is scheduled to perform at Josh Barnett's Bloodsport and Joey Janela's Spring Break over WrestleMania 39 weekend.

It appears fans will have to wait a little while longer for The Golden Lovers to reunite, however.
