Nikkita Lyons Undergoes Surgery

Nikkita Lyons has had surgery to repair her torn ACL and meniscus

WWE NXT star Nikkita Lyons is on the mend after undergoing successful surgery.

Lyons took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce that she'd had successful surgery to repair her torn ACL and torn meniscus.

Accompanied by a post-op photo of herself, Nikkita wrote: "Surgery was a success. Thank you deeply to the WWE Universe, my Lyon Pride for all the love and support you show. I'll be back stronger than I've ever been. #ReadyToPounce. Also a big thank you to the wonderful surgeons, doctors and nurses. @WWENXT @WWE."

It is unknown exactly when Lyons sustained the injury, but she last wrestled at the NXT Level Up taping on January 17 (where she defeated Jakara Jackson).

Last week's episode of NXT featured an angle designed to write Lyons out of storylines. She was attacked in the parking lot, though the identity of her attacker wasn't revealed.

There is no definitive timeline when it comes to the 23-year-old's return, but a torn ACL typically takes around 9 months to recover from.
